What Otto AI is
Otto AI is the assistant built into Otto Mail. One app holds your mail, your calendar and your tasks for a Gmail or Outlook account, and the assistant works across all three. It is made and operated by Otto, and Otto, Otto AI and Otto Mail are three names people search for the same product by.
It does not give you a new email address. You connect the Google or Microsoft account you already have, and your mail stays where it is.
What Otto AI does
Ask in plain words and it prepares the work.
A reply drafted from the thread, in your voice rather than in template English. A read of what arrived overnight and what actually needs you today. A meeting proposed on your connected calendar with the attendees and the time zone showing. A follow-up that nudges you when nobody replied by the day you named, and a snoozed thread that comes back unread at the hour you chose. Research answered with its sources, without leaving the message. On Plus, recurring digests such as a morning brief, on a schedule you set.
Nothing leaves your account until you approve it
Sends, deletes and bulk changes come back as a confirmation card: the sending account, the recipients, the wording, and for a bulk job the scope it is about to touch. You approve it, edit it, or throw it away.
That is also what separates Otto AI from a chatbot. A chat window writes a good paragraph about an email you pasted into it. Otto AI acts on the real mailbox, which is more useful and is exactly why it needs a stop sign in front of it.
Quick, and quiet about it
New mail is pushed to Otto by Gmail and Outlook, so a message appears in the list as it arrives rather than when a timer next runs. Folder switches come off a live mirror of your mailbox instead of a fresh round trip, and archive, snooze and send respond as you press them. The keyboard layer is there when you want it: J and K to move, single keys to archive, star and reply, and ⌘/ for the cheat sheet.
Your mail stays with Google and Microsoft
Otto AI never stores the body of your emails or your attachments. They are fetched live from your provider each time you open one. What Otto keeps is a light metadata index, sender, subject, dates and flags, which is what makes a folder open quickly. The exceptions are named plainly in what Otto stores.

Does Otto AI work with Outlook?

Does Otto AI read my email?
It reads message content when your request needs it, and it never stores the body of your emails or your attachments. Your mail is never used to train any AI model.
