Refund Policy

Effective 13 June 2026

This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid Otto subscriptions. We want you to be happy with Otto — there's a free plan to try it first, you can cancel anytime, and we offer a fair refund window.

1. Who you’re buying from

Otto subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment, applicable taxes, and refunds; your receipts and card statement entries come from Paddle on our behalf. Requesting a refund from us (below) and requesting it from Paddle reach the same outcome — we coordinate with Paddle to issue it.

2. Try before you pay

Otto has a free plan with no time limit, so you can use the core product before deciding to upgrade. We recommend trying it on the free plan first to make sure Otto fits your workflow.

3. Cancelling a subscription

You can cancel a paid plan at any time:

  • From your account’s billing settings, or via the management link in any Paddle receipt, or by emailing us at support@ottomail.app.
  • Cancelling stops all futurerenewal charges. You keep access to your paid features until the end of the billing period you already paid for; we don’t auto-refund the remainder of a period on cancellation (but see the refund window below).
  • When a subscription ends, your account reverts to the free plan — your data and mailbox connection are unaffected.

4. Refunds

New subscriptions. If Ottoisn’t right for you, you can request a refund of your first payment within 14 days of that charge. We grant these at our reasonable discretion and may decline where there are signs of misuse or that the plan has already been used substantially.

Renewals.Renewal charges aren’t refunded for a change of mind — you can cancel any time before a renewal date to avoid the next charge (we make upcoming renewals visible in your billing settings and receipts). We will refund a renewal if you contact us within 48 hoursof it and haven’t used the new period, or for any billing error.

Weekly plans. Because the billing period is so short, weekly plans are refundable only for billing errors — please evaluate Otto on the free plan, or a monthly plan, first.

We’ll always make it right for:

  • a duplicate or accidental charge;
  • a billing error on our side;
  • an extended service outage that materially prevented you from using a paid feature.

Fair use. Refunds are not available where there is fraud, payment abuse, automated or excessive usage, repeated refund-and-repurchase activity, or a breach of our Terms of Service. We may limit or decline refunds in these cases.

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method via Paddle and typically arrive within 10 business days, depending on your bank. A refund ends the subscription immediately and your account returns to the free plan.

5. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable rights you have under consumer law in your country. Customers in the EU/UK normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a digital purchase — but that right does not apply once the service has begun with your express consent, which you give when you start a paid Otto plan and gain immediate access. Where a non-waivable statutory right does apply, it is honored in full. As Merchant of Record, Paddle administers these statutory rights for your transaction.

6. Chargebacks

If something looks wrong with a charge, please contact us first at support@ottomail.app— we can almost always resolve it faster than a bank dispute. Filing a chargeback may suspend the associated subscription while it’s investigated.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the “effective” date above reflects the latest version, and material changes will be announced in-app or by email. See also our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Pricing.
