About Otto Mail
Bring the work behind your inbox into view.
Otto Mail is an assistant that works across mail, calendar and tasks for Gmail and Outlook, on the web and iPhone, with Android coming soon. It helps with the work that arrives by email, while you choose which actions need a review and which bounded rules to enable.
Why Otto exists
Very little of anyone's job is email, and almost all of it passes through email. The meeting that needs booking, the answer three people are waiting on, the promise buried in the fourth paragraph of a thread from Tuesday. The work is not hard. There is simply more of it than a morning holds, and the cost is the hour you spend deciding what each message needs before you do any of it.
AI should be good at exactly that. The catch is that mail is unforgiving: a send cannot be recalled, a delete is gone, and a bulk change lands on a thousand threads at once. An assistant that acts first and tells you later is not something you can reasonably hand your mailbox to.
Otto prepares ordinary assistant actions for you to review. You can also opt into narrow rules for replies or meeting requests, inspect their history and turn them off when they no longer fit.
What Otto does
- Drafts replies in your voice, with the thread and the history already in mind.
- Triages what arrived: what needs an answer, what can wait, what is noise.
- Turns a message into a calendar event, a task or a note without retyping it.
- Keeps accepted commitments and their source links together, including work you are waiting on.
- Runs routines, such as a morning brief, on a schedule you set and delivers them where you read: in the app, by email or push, or in Telegram, Slack or Discord on Plus and Pro.
- Works on the web and iPhone, with Android coming soon, across mail, calendar and tasks.
You can also just read, write and file mail by hand. The assistant is there when you want it and out of the way when you do not.
See how each piece worksHow we think about it
- You choose what can act
- Ordinary assistant sends, deletes and bulk changes show a review card before they run. Optional standing rules, such as automatic replies or a booking link, act within the limits you explicitly set and can be turned off.
- Your mail stays with your provider
- Otto keeps an inbox list with message details so the inbox loads quickly. Message bodies are normally fetched from Google or Microsoft when needed; selected content can also be saved in chats, notes, shared drafts and prepared work you use.
- A free tier you can actually work in
- Free connects one account with core mail, calendar and tasks, plus an AI allowance. Paid plans add capacity, more accounts and more AI, and core mail is never held back to sell you an upgrade.
- Works with the account you already have
- Connect Gmail or Outlook and keep your address, your history and your filing. There is no migration, no new inbox to learn and no forwarding tricks.
