Akiflow and Otto Mail overlap on calendar and tasks but start from different places. Akiflow is a time-blocking planner: you collect tasks from many tools, then drag them into your day. Otto is the Gmail or Outlook app itself. It has a calendar and tasks, and an assistant that does the drafting and booking, plus filing, and waits for your approval.
Otto is ours, so weigh our side. If you want a planner that pulls tasks from everywhere, stay with Akiflow. If you want an Akiflow alternative that's also your mail client, that's Otto.
Where Akiflow is stronger
Akiflow describes a universal inbox and time blocking. It also has Aki, an AI assistant for voice commands and briefings, and integrations that include turning Gmail and Outlook email into tasks. Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar are there too, along with Microsoft To Do.
Tasks from other tools land in one list, which Otto doesn't do. Otto keeps tasks in Google Tasks or Microsoft To Do for the selected account.
Where Otto fits
In Otto the mail isn't an input to a planner. It's the app. A thread can become a reviewed reply, a meeting on your Google or Outlook calendar, or a task, without you leaving it. Otto doesn't time-block your task list. When a task needs a slot, you turn it into an event. Nothing sends or books until you approve. See how Otto's assistant works.

Otto Free covers one account, Plus is $6.99 a month and Pro is $19.99/month.
