Sender screening and Focus bundles

Open Settings → Automations → Focus for the selected mailbox. Choose an exact sender to allow, quiet or Hide in Otto. Hiding removes the mail from Otto's primary inbox and new-mail alerts; it does not block delivery, archive, trash or mark mail read at Gmail or Outlook. All Mail and search still find it, and you can undo the choice.

Create a Focus bundle, choose a delivery time and assign senders. Gmail also offers Social, Promotions, Updates and Forums categories; Outlook uses exact senders here. An exact sender choice takes priority over a category. A scheduled bundle sends an Otto notification when there is something to read. You can also open the bundle any time. Saved routines can read one of your bundles from the period chosen for that run.

Focus follows your sender and category choices: it does not ask an AI model to classify each message. New settings apply to the chosen mailbox, and older messages may appear gradually as the bundle fills. Turning the feature off restores ordinary inbox and alert behavior; saved choices remain reviewable.
