Your AI agreement and controls
FreeOne agreement for Otto's AI, with separate controls for how memory learns and acts.
Before using AI, Otto asks you to accept one agreement covering chat, composing and rewriting, research, voice transcription, semantic search, AI summaries and memory. You can agree or continue without AI; core email, calendar and task actions remain available.
The agreement explains that relevant content is processed by Otto's AI providers. It does not remove plan limits, publish private chats to a team or authorize automatic sending. An updated agreement may be shown when its coverage changes. If you choose Not now, use Enable Otto’s AI in the assistant or retry an AI action to reopen the same agreement. The public demo uses a short-lived session agreement; signing in uses your account agreement.
Memory choices stay yours
Eligible personal memory starts enabled after agreement, while an existing choice to disable it is preserved. Learning, Use saved memory, Learning sources, and Automatic changes have separate controls in Memory. Enabling AI does not override excluded sources or enable automatic changes. Shared memory remains subject to organization roles.
If AI is unavailable
Optional memory failure must not stop the main task: Otto continues without that context. An explicit request to save a memory needs a confirmed result; do not assume it was saved when Otto reports an error or an unconfirmed outcome.
