Images in notes
PlusPaste, drop or pick screenshots and photos into any note. Otto keeps them sharp and small.
Paste a screenshot, drop a photo, or tap the image button in a Rich or Markdown note. The image lands where your cursor is and syncs to every device.
Before anything uploads, Otto shrinks the image on your device: it keeps the shape and enough resolution to stay sharp on a retina screen, picks whichever format gives the smallest file, and checks the result still looks identical. A typical screenshot drops from a few megabytes to a few hundred kilobytes, and location data in photos is removed.
Images are part of Plus (20 per note, 1,500 in total) and Pro (50 per note, 10,000 in total). In a note you edit together, the owner's plan decides. Images you remove are cleaned up after a day, so undo still works. Anyone you share a note with sees its images on any plan, and images you added stay visible if you change plans.
